Trusted Online Training Backed by AAA

AAA has been a leading provider of driving training since 1935. The Colorado Teen Driver Education course draws on more than 100 years of traffic safety research to teach teens how to stay safe behind the wheel and operate a motor vehicle with confidence.

Satisfies Colorado State Driver's Ed Requirements

The state requires teens under 16 to complete 30 hours of driver's education before applying for a permit. A full driver's ed course is strongly suggested for older learners, too. You can apply for a permit starting at age 15.

Download Your Certificate Immediately

You can download and print your Certificate of Completion immediately after you pass the final exam. Take your certificate with you to your appointment at the Division of Motor Vehicles when you apply for your Minor Permit.

About the Course

This teen-focused driver's education program includes 30 hours of classroom instruction about traffic laws, rules of the road and motor vehicle operation across 19 modules. Learn to drive online with the most up-to-date information from scientifically validated sources.

Each chapter ends with a short quiz. Students must pass a 25-question, multiple-choice final exam to complete the course.

How It Works

The process of earning your Colorado learner's permit depends on your age. Even though the steps might seem complicated, learning to drive isn't hard. Once you finish the course, you will bring your certificate to a licensing office along with identification documents and an Affidavit of Liability signed by your parent or guardian.

You will have to pass a knowledge test based on the Colorado DMV Handbook and pay a small fee during your appointment. If you pass, you will be issued your permit!
